“Somme 1916” Museum, Albert Enter this underground museum at the side of the Basilica in the
centre of Albert (under the "Golden Virgin and Child").
Very well laid out and informative.
The
Newfoundland Memorial, Beaumont Hamel
After the attack of July 1st 1916 29th Division's Commander was
to write of the Newfoundland effort: "It was a magnificent
display of trained and disciplined valour, and its assault failed
of success because dead men can advance no further."
Ulster
Tower, Thiepval
The Somme Association's website, including details of the
replica of "Helen's Tower" at Thiepval, - the memorial
to the 36th (Ulster) Division.

succinct account of the Tank actions at Flers in September 1916,
but also including much more on the Infantry actions.

The Western
Front Association
The Western Front Association was formed with the aim of furthering
interest in the period 1914-1918, to perpetuate the memory, courage
and comradeship of all those who served their countries in France
and Flanders and their own countries during The Great War. Members
receive the two association periodicals, "The Bulletin"
and "Stand To!".
The Armourer Magazine

Military Museums, Battlefields etc. There is also a regular photographic
price guide to items on sale at militaria fairs. Each issue of the
